Carlos E. Sardi practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy, creditors' rights, insolvency, reorganization and restructuring.

He has represented debtors, trustees and creditors in bankruptcies under Chapters 7 and 11 cases. He has defended alleged debtors in involuntary bankruptcy cases. Mr. Sardi also represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including legal and accounting malpractice, officer and director liability, contract disputes, fraudulent transfer actions, preference transfer actions, and debt collection matters. He also specializes in the representation of assignors, assignees, and creditors in assignment for the benefit of creditors' proceedings and receivers in both state and district court receivership proceedings. Mr. Sardi also represents clients in general commercial and corporate matters.

Recently, Mr. Sardi successfully achieved the dismissal of an involuntary bankruptcy case filed against an individual client and obtained a multi-million-dollar judgment against a major national bank in a jury trial for compensatory and punitive damages resulting from the "bad faith" filing of such type of case.

Prior to founding SARDI LAW PLLC, Mr. Sardi worked at a prestigious law firm in Miami, Florida since 2004. He also formerly interned for Judge J. Gerald B Cope, Jr., Florida Third District Court of Appeals.  Previously, he was an entrepreneur owning his own company, and before that he worked as a financial analyst for Xerox Corporation, where Mr. Sardi was instrumental in negotiating large deals with major software companies and improving the financial results for the corporation.

Mr. Sardi is very active in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, Dade County Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, Venezuelan American National Bar Association, Put Something Back Program of Miami-Dade County, The Business Law Section of the Florida Bar, and the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida. He is also a Fellow of the Florida Bar Foundation in support of the value of justice, leadership, and charitable programs. Mr. Sardi is also an active volunteer of the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® and supporter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®. 

Mr. Sardi is currently the Chair of the Pro Bono Committee of The Business Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Second Vice President for the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida, and the Secretary of the Venezuelan American National Bar Association. He also serves as a member of The Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy Committee of The Florida Bar.

Mr. Sardi has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Florida Super Lawyers and as a "Legal Elite" by Florida Trend magazine.  He has taught as an adjunct professor at Barry University teaching a course in bankruptcy law and has lectured for the National Business Institute. He has also served as mentor for students at the University of Miami School of Business. 

Mr. Sardi earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the Shepard Broad Law Center of Nova Southeastern University in 2004, where he was selected for the Moot Court Honor Society and Nova Law Review.  Prior to obtaining his juris doctor, Mr. Sardi graduated from the University of Miami School of Business with a Bachelors in Business Administration, cum laude, in 1985, and later a Masters in Business Administration from the same school in 1987, both with a concentration in finance.

Mr. Sardi was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and raised in Miami, Florida since 1979. He is fully fluent in Spanish, and conversational in Portuguese.
